Message from the Chair All across the United States there has been a record turnout for primary elections. Democrats have been energized by the campaigns of a field of high quality candidates offering superb choices as the next President of this nation. There are very good reasons for this excitement: --The message is one of change from a failed Bush administration--failed in honesty, failed in leadership and failed in connecting with the world in a hopeful and peaceful way. --The message is one of listening to the needs of the American people--especially those who are working to make ends meet, those who want their jobs back, and those who want a government that will abide by the Constitution. --The message is one that offers the promise that the war in Iraq will end soon, not ten or one hundred years from now. --The message is one that offers a genuine "partnership" in governing this land, where the voices of more than the powerful and wealthy are heard. Democrats, Independents and Republicans need to jump on board to embrace this message.
